One of the most recent food buzzword sounds something like “three-ingredient” and the Koreans have long been doing this with their kimchi buchmigae or kimchi pancake. This Korean dish is a favorite bar food and a popular banchan (side dish) for a regular Korean meal spread. With only three ingredients, you’re all set for a round of drinks.
If you have flour, water, kimchi and cooking oil, you’ll survive just fine – especially if on a tight budget. In Korea though, pre-made batter flour is sold in packs as some swear by it with the buchimgae batter a mix of precisely-measured ingredients apart from flour. Kimchi is obviously known for its spiciness – but chug it down with beer and you’ll have a good, fun night. The night is young, chow down on many more kimchi buchimgae. On its own, kimchi is among the healthiest food across the globe so be assured of that one thing as you drink the night away. But then again, everything should be in moderation.
