The rich broth of this luxurious Korean food is what makes galbitang a winning dish for many. A bowl with kimchi and a steaming bowl of white rice are surefire dishes to win the heart.
In Korea, this is usually reserved for special occasions as galbi is particularly expensive. Despite this, galbitang is a well-loved Korean dish due to its delicate flavor. The sweetness of the Korean radish, onion, garlic and ginger seeps through the beef, making this a memorable dish. In addition, beef ribs are more flavorful than any other meat cuts and this contributes to galbitang’s depth of flavor.
To many, Korean food is usually associated with spicy and galbitang would most likely appeal to people who cannot eat spicy food.
Usually starch noodles are added at the end and that’s it for some; but sometimes people always try for a more colorful approach. This is going extra, but a wonderful color accent is to garnish it with gyeran noreunja jidan (계란 노른자 지단), or fried egg yolks cut into strips.
