If you wanted to experience the Joseon dynasty kind of living in Korean traditional houses also called hanok, the Bukchon hanok Village or North Village which dates to over 600 years of existence, is the best place to go. Located in between the famous palaces and ancient buildings in Seoul, you can also check out other must-see historical places. Unlike the Namsangol Hanok Village, which is also a famous folk village destination, Bukchon hanok Village is not just made to become an attraction since it is literally alive. People are actually living in these houses, although there are some rules that visitors must abide in order to avoid disturbance in the hanok residents. The place is now used as a traditional culture center with a hanok restaurant. The pleasing patterned walls and the complimenting of the tiled roofs of over 900 hanok made with the fine Korean traditional architecture make up a perfect accent.
