Among the Five Grand Palaces of Joseon dynasty, Gyeongbokgung or commonly addressed as the Northern Palace is the one you shouldn’t miss, as it is undeniably the most gorgeous, and the largest compared to its 4 sister palaces. It is the main royal residence of the Joseon sovereigns and was an abode to the mighty kings that once ruled this very remarkable era. But what really makes Gyeongbokgung the finest is its pristine ancient resources, and it serves as a house to a promising amount of olden treasures of the past. The Gwanghwamun Gate or the imposing main gate of Gyeongbokgung Palace, the very peaceful Gyeonghoeru Pavilion, Yeongjegyo Bridge; and the exquisite solitude two-story Hyangwonjeong Pavilion, that lies in a small artificial island in the middle of a lake are just some of the most picturesque attractions that one shouldn’t overlook. Also, Gyeongbokgung Palace houses the National Palace Museum of Korea, which preserves a collection of over 900 relics and 40,000 artifacts from the royal court of Joseon Dynasty palaces and the National Folk Museum of Korea.
