Considered as a World Cultural Heritage site by the UNESCO and one of the “Five Grand Palaces” built by the kings of Joseon Dynasty, exploring the Changdeokgung palace will surely make you feel like a Joseon royalty. The beauty of this royal villa is very promising during autumn season, when the trees are close to losing all their bright orange leaves, making the palace compound entirely covered in a relaxing autumn ambiance. There is a public palace area, a royal family residence building, and a rear garden which is meticulously tended and reserved: occasionally touched by skilful hands. Famous as a place of cessation for the kings, the garden is home to a 300-year old tree, a small pond and a porch. Changdeokgung palace is home to many cultural treasures, many pavilions and fountains such as Buyongjeong, Buyongji, Juhabru, Eosumun, Yeonghwadang, Bullomun, Aeryeonjeong, and Yeongyeongdang that occupy the garden.
