Named after its resemblance to a lying cow, Udo island is situated off the eastern coast of Jeju Island, and it is also renowned as mini Jeju for it speaks of Jeju’s varied heritages, natural treasures and rich culture. It also boasts its fertile soil, abundant schools of fish, and scenic sights; local heritages (female divers, stone walls, and stone tombs) as well as natural attractions abound on the island, making it a miniature of Jeju Island. It is clear to see why the island is a must see place, since ir is also full of amenities and tourism outlets: fishing, bike trails, sand massages, submarine tours and cruises.
the highest spot on the island is nestled on Udobong Peak, (132.5m) and it is a magnificent lighthouse surrounded by a spacious park. The peak offers outstanding views of the island, and of course it is a nice place to relax and breathe in the cold breeze and satisfying ambiance.
Seobin Baeksa (a white beach designated Natural Monument No. 438) has appeared regularly in films and TV commercials thanks to its breathtaking white sand and emerald sea. The sea features a gradient of colours that is even more spectacular from a top view. This makes Seobin Baeksa one of the most popular tourist attractions in Jeju-do, along with Hallasan Mountain.
The Hiking experience features two courses namely: Course 1 (13km beachside road): Seobinbaeksa Beach-Jeonheungdong Pavilion/Lighthouse-Hagosudong Beach–Geommeolle Beach-Dongangyeonggul Cave andCourse 2 (2km Udobong Peak): Udobong Peak-Deungdae (Lighthouse) Museum-Jiducheongsa-Jeonjingwansan Mountain.
