A really colorful, walkable promenade filled with great cafes, restaurants, and shopping. It’s near the university, so lots of students around. Very vibrant vibe, especially at night. Lots of people around and things to do
Nice vibrant location with a lot of university students. Buskers come out at night to add to the festivities. Great for walking around with various dedicated streets eg fashion, coffee, food etc.
Best to come at night, lots of options of bars also for a nightcap

Best to come midday and stay to late.
Lots of shops for the young folk as well as plenty of restaurants. Buskers are great as well so you can sit around while listening to some song and dance.
If you visit Seoul without visiting Hongik University, then you’re likely missing out on an experience of its own. A lot of good shopping, good eateries, good street basking, and a lot of good young vibes all around.
Will suggest swinging by if you have the time, and walking from one end of Hongdae to another in the day. If you’d like, the night life here is also very vibrant, and I’ll suggest checking it out at least once!

Rather crowded on a weekday but worth a evening trip, good for family too. But we did not stay till late.
Get dinner + appreciate the K entertainment on offer along the street.
5 stars as it caters to all budget types. Spend as much won as you have or not.
Lots of things to do. From live entertainment, eateries, pubs/bars , desserts and shopping. Just hard to find a trash can and bathroom. They’re also local hair salons around too! Many cute restaurants up in the side/ back alleys too.
Most important, this place opens at 11-1130am. We, and other people who didn’t get the memo, came around 10am hoping to beat the crowds only to find a virtual ghost town. A quick pop into a cafe for an hour and when we went out you could see the shops slowly spring to life. As the day goes on the livelier, and more crowded, the place gets. Good shopping, good cafes, street performances and the odd Harry Potter restaurant.
