Firecracker, a beautiful place. Great time spent. It’s worth the effort and entry. It’s not difficult
When talking about Jeju Island’s most symbolic tourist destination, Seongsan Ilchulbong is of course mentioned.
It is a tourist destination loved by many foreign tourists and domestic people.
Admission from the parking lot to the observatory on the left and the female diver experience center is free.
If you take the right side to the horseback riding range, you must purchase an entrance fee separately at the ticket booth to enter.
Great quick hike up on top! (490 steps, I counted haha) The trail is very well maintained! Beautiful crater covered in so much vegetation, it looks absolutely stunning. The view is great! You have to check it out!
Best part though was watching the free diver presentation right next to this amazing mountain. (Go left instead of right by the entrance) The show is at 2 pm every day. Amazing what those female divers endured during some tough times and are still kicking butt! They are an inspiration! They caught an octopus with their bare hands during the presentation I watched. So impressive!! Check out my photos!
The ticketing route will not be open on the first Monday of each month, and the ticket booth is not yet open during the time of watching the sunrise. It only takes about 3 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the park of the free route. You can calculate the time before going out.
The most popular place in Jeju. Literally translates to Sunrise Peak. The view from the top is mind blowing. Its just a 20 minute hike to the top. And well laid out paths to avoid people clashing into each other. What I liked about it is there is an uphill entry path and a separate downhill exit path. Drones aren’t allowed, sadly.
It’s a bit tiring to climb up, but a good scenic spot worth visiting
People with enough physical strength can go up to see the crater. It takes about 40-50 minutes to go back and forth. The view is very wide and beautiful. It is worth walking once…
It’s steeper when going down, it’s safer to go slower…
Those who have no energy can go down to the Starbucks next to them after walking halfway, and have a coffee break, haha
So wonderful, a majestic landscape and a strong wind.
It is a super scenic spot, fully worthy of the title of “World Natural Heritage”!
The experience in all aspects is very good. It is strongly recommended to get up early and go to the top of the mountain to watch the sunrise. Although climbing the mountain is a bit tiring, there are many beautiful scenery along the way, which are worth taking pictures.
After going down the mountain, you can also go to nearby restaurants and souvenir shops. If you eat, you can buy authentic oranges from Jeju Island, or fried food next to the orange stand. The items sold in the souvenir shop are also very distinctive, and I also recommend the super cute orange pendant in the store , I will take it everywhere now!
If you want to take a look at the street view, there is a location nearby that can take pictures at the foot of the Swiss Alps, and I remember there is a cafe recommended by Lonely Planet. In short, this place can satisfy all your imagination of beautiful scenery π
It is one of the world heritage sites in Jeju Island!
Anyway, it’s big and spectacular! I think it’s the most famous tourist spot in Jeju!
There is a free area and a paid area, and the paid area has a lot of stairs to climb, but you can go to the top of the mountain! Maybe 20.30 minutes up! It’s pretty tiring, but the scenery from the top of the mountain is insanely beautiful!
However, I think that you can enjoy it enough even in the free area!
Amazing point for visit in Jeju island
Climbing up is very tiring, and my feet are shaking when I go down the stairs π
Elderly people should pay attention to proper rest when going up the mountain! Although it’s cloudy, don’t hesitate, you can still come!
Go down the mountain and take a photo at the cliffside of the diver!
Don’t miss climbing to the top! The views are breathtaking. The climb can be easily done in 30 minutes with a lot of short stops. We did the climb just before the sunset. The area was quite windy. There is free parking available right under the entrance
Climbing about 470 to 500 steps, up and down time is about 1 hour. The mountains are low and very beautiful. On the sea side, there is a fishing village where Hai Nu specializes in diving and catching marine products. A must-visit place when in Jeju.
The stairs are 180m long, and the view from the top is beautiful
Feel that burn! Make it to the top and it will all be worth it.
Beautiful place to look at the mountain on the one side and the island on the other side. There is plenty of prking and restaurants nearby and just a short walk from the car park. There are two entrances, one for hikers one for tourists (tourist entry is free).
You can walk down some stairs to a beach where you can buy seafood or take a boat ride around the mountain. A very nice place and a must visit spot in Jeju
Absolutely amazing experience. The views were stunning and it was so easy to find the Haenyeo women once you got closer to the trails. If you’d like to see the women you can go down the free trail to the left of the mountain and down the stairs. They do a free show at 2pm and then dive for ablone and conches for the public to eat (but be careful when you go since they aren’t there the 1st Monday of each month).
I found how much to pay them for the conch a little confusing but apart from that it was an enjoyable experience. Watched the women dive, ate a conch and picked up some shells as souvenirs. Splendid day!
limb Seongsan Ilchulbong (Seongsan Ilchulbong), which represents Jeju Island.
Beautiful! We liked the bottom of the crater more than the top. π Also a good spot to watch the Haenyeo doing their diving thing
Beautiful crater-style peak with easy access and a good climb to the top. The view is excellent. While it is a beautiful climb, the beauty of the peak is probably best viewed with a drone. Drones are not allowed, which I am totally fine with π
Arrived before 9 o’clock in the morning, the wind is quite strong, it is the first place to see the sunrise in Jeju Island, and you can see Udo Mountain
Gyeongmi House (κ²½λ―Έλ€μ§) near the entrance of Seongsan Ilchulbong
In the water tank outside the store, there are many seafood caught by the ama in the village.
I bought steamed abalone, conch, sea cucumber, etc. for β©50,000 there
The nearby small shop sells a lot of Jeju orange products
Starbucks also sells JEJU-limited drinks, citrus series
Seongsan Sunrise Peak, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, is also included in the World Natural Heritage.
The surrounding environment is constantly changing. The gift shops that existed before the epidemic have all been removed and turned into parks.
The entrance is visited in one direction, and the intention is to encourage everyone to walk around more.
The Haenyeo’s House is at the foot of the mountain. Auntie Haenyeo’s freshly caught seafood can be eaten raw or cooked in porridge.
From Seongsan Ilchulbong, you can also overlook the beautiful Udo Island.
The overall visit time is about 1 to 1.5 hours.
