Nami island

Nami Island was formed by the rising water of the Han River as a result of the construction of Cheongpyeong Dam in 1944. Nami Island was named after General Nami. General Nami was falsely accused of treason and died at the age of 28.

Nami Island is famous for its beuatful tree lined roads. In particular, the Metasequoia path which served as a famous shooting site for the hit KBS drama, “Winter Sonata.” Today, there is a statue of the main characters embracing from the famous scene in “Winter Sonata.” Thousands of the show’s fans flock to this site every year.

Nami Island is equipped with lodging and amusement facilities such as; bike rental, swimming pool, water sports, shooting range, merry go round, etc. If you are brave enough, you can even ride a zip line onto the island rather than taking the ferry.

Nami Island offers beautiful scenery and fun for the whole family year round. It is also a popular date destinations for couples.
