Jinhae Cherry Blossom Festival Description

The Jinhae Cherry Blossom Festival is annually held in the small port town of Jinhae. Jinhae is a small port town and located about an hour west of Busan. The popular festival attracts over 2 million visitors per year and is growing. The festival was originally held to honor the great General Yi Su-Sin, but it is now more about the cherry blossoms. But, there is still a parade that honors General Yi-Sun-Sin at the festival.

The exact dates of the Jinhae Cherry Blossom Festivals depends on the weather so it varies year by year, but it is generally held at the end of March to beginning of April. We recommend a visit if you are in Korea during the festival.

There are several different venues that offer great views of cherry blossoms in full bloom. There are also a variety of parades, shows, and exhibitions.The festival has four main venues. Jangboksan Sculpture Park, Yeojwacheon Stream, Gyeonghwa Station, and Sokcheongang Port. There is a parade, aerial show, and fireworks show held at these venues.
