- We will provide you with a 9 passenger van and driver to take you on a memorable day trip from Seoul to Andong Hahoe Village.To make sure everyone is comfortable, we will keep the maximum number of passengers to 7 people age 3 and over per van. The last 2 seats in the back will be reserved for infants under 3 and there will be limit of 2 infants per group.
Itinerary
Your driver will pick you up from your place of lodging with a private 9 passenger van. You will then drive over 3 hours to Andong.
You will arrive at Andong Hahoe Village at approximately 12:30pm. You will have 3 hours of free time to roam the village.
Andong Hahoe Village is a UNESCO Heritage Site and home to the descendants of the Ryu Clan. Hahoe Village (translating to “Village Enveloped by Water”) gets its name from Nakdong River, which flows around the town’s perimeter. The village is located at the foothills of Hwasan Mountain, an offshoot of Taebaek Mountain that rises up to the east. The center of the village is populated by large tile-roofed houses belonging to the Ryu clan, adding their own unique charm to the surrounding thatched roofs.
We recommend roaming the village to get a feel of what it was like to live in the Joseon Dynasty Era. Be sure to try the local foods and alcohol available for sale in the village. Also be sure to hike up to Buyongdae Cliff where you will get a beautiful panoramic view of the village from above.
We also recommend that you visit the nearby Andong Hahoe Mask Museum, which displays traditional masks from Korea and also from other parts of the world. To cap the day off, we recommend checking out the Hahoe Byeolsingut Mask Dance (Exorcism) Performance. This performance is held daily from 2:00pm to 3:00pm.
Your personal driver will meet you at a pre-determined location and drive you back to Seoul.
